Exhibition Dates: April 14–May 4, 2018
Opening Reception: April 14, 2018  6 pm–9 pm

I’m pleased to present my latest curatorial endeavor with Modern Eden Gallery entitled “Animation Reimagined”!   This large-scale gallery exhibition features the best established and emerging contemporary art talent who have re-imagined the most memorable cartoons and animated films of all time. Iconic animated shows and films such as Felix the Cat, Betty Boop, and Mickey Mouse, to modern-day classics such as Frozen, Toy Story and more have been fantastically recreated in new paintings and from new perspectives. I have asked all artists to bring a bit of realism into their paintings, and their own unique style. The result is a collection of animated classics re-imagined in a way we’ve never seen before.

The press we’ve received on the show so far includes:

SF Station:  “Animation Reimagined at Modern Eden will have your favorite cartoon characters looking even sleeker, sexier, and possibly more tripped out than you had remembered them. Michael Cuffe of Warholian has curated an all-star crew of established and emerging artists for this show, with each artist asked to apply their own artistic vision, along with a bit of realism, to iconic animated characters from both old-school classics to modern-day favorites.”- Shayna Yasuhara, SF Station

Beautiful Bizarre Magazine:   “Curator and Warholian founder Michael Cuffe has come together with Modern Eden Gallery to present a stunning new body of work in their newest exhibition, Animation Reimagined. From memorable cartoons and animated films to the many enduring popular tales of today, these nostalgic characters are sure to pull our heartstring and give us plenty to talk about. This exciting collection features the artwork of many of your favorites.”Bella Harris, Beautiful Bizarre Magazine

“Animation Re-Imagined” finds each of the artists re-imagining some of the world’s most famous animated characters of all time.”Zach Tutor, Supersonic Art
