Like many of you out there, we’re looking forward to the release of Wes Anderson’s latest film entitled “The Grand Budapest Hotel”. The film is yet one more ensemble acting piece featuring regulars of the Wes Anderson world, including many new well known additions.
A big part of what makes a Wes Anderson film so memorable is the production design details, or overall look of the film. This includes props, set locations, design, costumes, and so forth. I started my career in Hollywood in the world of production design, so I’ve always appreciated the work of these unsung heroes behind the big screen.
The Grand Budapest Hotel’s production designer was Adam Stockhausen, who also headed Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom and was previously art director on The Darjeeling Limited.
Although not much has been released from the film, I’ve been able to curate a nice set of images to give you an overall sense of The Grand Budapest Hotel’s design elements, which gives one a deeper appreciation of the artistic vision of Wes Anderson.
