A couple weeks have passed since the Warhol Reimagined: The New Factory show (curated by us!) opened at Project One Gallery and we’re finally getting around to putting up photos from the event.  Located in the design district of San Francisco, Project One Gallery features 1200 sq feet of open gallery space with 20 foot ceilings.  The gallery represents local, national and international artists, and focuses on contemporary art from artists they love.  The Project One space added an extra level of class and sophistication to Warhol Reimagined, and we couldn’t have had a better opportunity to present our curatorial skills to the San Francisco arts community.

Gallery Director Brooke Waterhouse has been enormously helpful in making this show a reality, along the rest of the talented and kind staff at Project One.  Brooke, Steve, Sam, Sonie, Alex, Angela, Mani, Sealove, Sergio…. a HUGE THANK YOU from all of us here at Warholian!!!!

We were lucky enough to have Warhol Reimagined’s art works hung by Sami Ezzaher and Angela Holmes, who are quite possibly some of the best people for the job.  As we watched them hang the show throughout the day, I was amazed at their ability to hang the show perfectly as I had imagined it.  It was quite an experience to watch all the details of the show fall into place, and even more amazing how straight all the works ended up looking when they were finally up.

Gallery Director Brooke Waterhouse and her husband Steve have been there every step of the way with Warhol Reimagined, and are honestly one of the most professional working couples I’ve met.  Accommodating, helpful, and supportive – we simply could not have put together this amazing event without their help.  Lyrica and I have been so appreciative of their role in this joyful, creative process.

Our VIP opening was on March 9th to much success, and Angela and Alex actually sold quite a bit of work this first evening (thanks again you two).  Many members of the gallery community and press stopped by, and even a special appearance by international UK street artist Ben Eine and his crew took us a bit by surprise.

A special thanks to my right hand, and my love Lyrica Glory.  You’re amazing, I couldn’t have done any of this without you.

Also to Warholian’s own Maggie Pike for lending her curatorial mind to the show, thanks Maggie!

Please enjoy this little glimpse into the Warhol Reimagined setup and VIP soft opening.
